A little birdie told me there are 23 days until Spring, so I've been keeping busy making Spring pillows to add inexpensive ways to add color to your home.
I made two pillows from place mats for $2.50 and I already had the cute Pom Pom fringe, and on the other side I added a beautiful Waverly toile called "Cherished Moments" I bought this fabric a few years ago. A two season pillow for about $5, a few books and flowers picked from my garden, everything thrifted. A beautiful Spring vignette for low money. You can also cover the books to change the colors with the changing seasons. I am so excited for Spring and counting down the days until it arrives and when it does we will all be ready for her beauty!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use a place mat to make a pillow cover! And I LOVE the birds on the logs -- SO cute. Also a great idea to swap out the books with pastel colored ones. I decorate with a LOT of books but they are all mostly dark covers. Maybe I'll 'cover' the books with spring papers?!

I love this idea! My sister is a great seamstress and will have to help me with this idea when I find some great placemats myself. Also the way you embellished and updated the pre-existing pillows was genius to tie in with the new pillow.
