Nature

Dear Friends

Thank you so much for your comments about retirement.  I guess it will be another Season of my life and will embrace it as it is better than the inevitable.  I wanted to share pictures of nature and some of these pictures I am most proud of.  The swallow tails which I hope I have named them correctly are my pride and joy they keep coming back year after year and I am so glad I get to be their lunch partner.  Bees, well we all know we need these in our lives and a picture of my cherry tree in my back yard, it was a seedling and now towers my house and provides shade year after year and a beautiful pink snow in the Spring.  The full double rainbow, well it was a long Friday and I was leaving my job "I Love To Hate" and it was magical standing right under the glow, I will never forget it.

She's Retired

Dear Friends

Some people would say, I'm at the age I should be thinking about retirement.  I looked up the meaning: the action or fact of leaving ones' job and ceasing to work.  Let me be the first to tell you, I will never cease to work.  If you cease to work, you die or die soon.  This life doesn't prepare you enough for the beginning of work or ceasing to work.  This is my opinion but if you have retired or intend to retire, I commend you, I also wish you a healthy and happy retirement.  Please let me know, I need input.

Shabby Pallet Potting Bench Part II

Dear Blogging Friends

If you tune in this is part II of my shabby pallet potting bench that my sweet son-in-law Tim and his friend built last year for me.  I tweaked it more this year and cleaned it and added some lace.  Pallets are all the rage and I remember my grand mother telling all us kids take a nap on a pallet!  Those were the days and sweet memories and everything on the potting bench came from, yes, Goodwill.  Hope you are having a great summer!  Stay tune for more shabby beautiful...

Friday Goodwill Find: Shabby Blue Garden

Dear Sweet Blogging Friends

I want to thank you for your sweet comments and tuning in to my shabby beautiful blog.   This weeks Friday Goodwill Finds are blue pots from Goodwill, I added to my Shabby Blue Garden.  I first posted this garden back in June 2014, Vintage Garden, this little space has come a long way.  I love when I shop Goodwill and find treasures that fit into my already planned garden and just $3....made a shabby girl smile.  My yard is not perfect, I struggle with a full time job, clean house, yard and a not so perfect shabby life, as we all know nothing in life is perfect and I wonder how I did all this when I was raising my beautiful children and my loving man I continue to love and nurture.   Life is one shabby garden you nurture everyday and with time becomes beautiful!  As I get older I enjoy every little shabby nurturing moment...

Much Shabby Love!

Peonies

Dear Blogging Friends

No Friday Goodwill Finds but instead Peonies from my garden.  Such beautiful flowers!  I'm actually going to a Military Ball this weekend and only had time to cut these beauties.  Speaking of beauty please stay tune for more shabby beautiful.  Also, send me your Mother's Day story to share for the give away for the pretty tea set.

A Shabby Chandy Birdbath.......

Dear Blogging Friends!

Do you wish you could gave a chandelier in every room?  I know I do, but instead I repurposed this $5 crystal lamp from a yard sale into a shabby crystal bird bath.  I had this crystal bowl in a wooden chair in the garden but the chairs will eventually rot. So, I repurposed this crystal lamp, the sun shinning thru is amazing, a beautiful shabby birdbath, the birds will never leave with this kind of luxury, LOL! For all of you who left a message about my potting bench or viewed debbygoesshabby.com thank you!  I had an amazing blogging week of love!  Continue to do what you love.

Oh, A Pallet Potting Bench!

Hi blogging friends,

When I was growing up a pallet was something my grandmother would lay on the floor in front of a fan and all of us kids would take a much needed nap or if there were not enough beds you would find yourself on a pallet for the night.  Oh, if we could only go back in time and make that wonderful summertime nap last.  OK, wake up, back to reality!  Pallets are what I dragged home from my husbands last job and I had this great idea from Pinterest on building a potting bench.  Well, the pallets stayed around the house for a while until my son-in-law, Tim and his friend made it happen with just my picture from Pinterest.  Me and my Loving Man tweaked it a bit by adding a top and a shelf and some paint and I Love it!  It's also on casters so I can roll it around on the deck.

Repurposing is what I Love, everything including my garden angel with creeping Jenny hair!  Savor these last days of summer and the sweet memories of our grandmothers and a Pallet!
