Dear Friends
Thank you for tuning in are you ready to "Fall In Love"! I want to share a quote, "If you Love something, it will work, That's the only rule." Bunny Williams, Interior Designer. You see I share Bunnies philosophy because sometimes cost can be a factor so most of my living room is "Shabby" or "Vintage" but "I have to Love It"! To me no matter how big the house or how small the cottage, or the budget, if you love it, it will work.
Every piece in my living room tells a story, my faux mantel, anniversary gift from a thrift shop it was very dark brown, was bought many years ago. The desk from a antique shop I used in my daughters wedding to display loved ones who passed. The Burgess chair that I recovered belonged to my mothers sister. The pink and green chair with a stool I painted to match, my sisters husband bought for me, my sister and I recovered the chair together. My end tables I painted my husband picked out and loves from Goodwill.
The new to me to me sofa and chair that I stored for three years until I could get both recovered, love! The armoire for my husbands anniversary that he hated but turned TV holder with my daughters help, thank you daughter. Oh, and don't forget my chandy, my beautiful chandy, this was bought new and I think Courtney just posted about the same chandy at French Country Cottage. I bought last year for our 32 year anniversary! You see I have "Fallen In Love" no matter what holiday, but today have added Fall accessories, to me your homes accessories will change the look like a new or vintage Shabby dress. I met my husband in a frock (my grandma Reatheas word for a dress) I made and it was a beautiful blue, he said it matched my eyes the first night I met him, he fell in love at first sight, your home should be the same. That's my "Fall In Love" tour, and remember, If you Love it, it will work, Going on 35 years this November....I only want to inspire and make the world more beautiful!

I started my blog to stay busy through my grief, unemployment and empty nesting. I love making something beautiful again. "Sometimes you may not be picked to join the bouquet, so be your own single beauty". My words, and making the world beautiful one post at a time.

Deb so many amazing transformations here on your blog.... love the chairs especially the floral one and the armoire came up beautifully after the white paint job and the wall of mirrors l love also....and although the chandy wasn't transformed it would have certainly transformed your room, it's so beautiful 🌸💛🌸

DeleteEverything looks so pretty, all beautifully done. Thanks so much for stopping by at Handmade Monday to share with us.
ReplyDeleteWe call dresses frocks here in the UK too, at least some of us do. I don't know if it's a older generation thing or a regional thing.
I love the pink, especially dishes with the pink roses. I collect them, too. Love the old full blown ones on bowls, cake plates and sugarers/creamers. Boyfriend got me a (requested) biscuit jar (which I've never had till now) for my birthday. Can't waiat to clear the clutter to make cute vignettes! Thank you for sharing your treasures with us.

Debby, it's easy to see that you love the things that you have in your home! That's what makes a house a home if you ask me. If you don't love it, it is just a house. It's the gathering of things we love that make it a home. Very lovely sweet friend! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Your home just oozes love and beautiful comfort Debby. It's so true that if you love something, it will work. We all have different styles and tastes and when we take something that's special to us and include it in our homes it becomes part of the sotry we tell the world. Your story is lovely
ReplyDeleteSo Pretty! I just adore pink but with a man in the house it's hard to use too much of it without driving him crazy!
