Dear Blogging Friends
My Friday Goodwill Find is early this week because I have plans to celebrate my sons 30th birthday with him! My daughter who helps me so much with my blog is trying to help me take better pics. She says my pics should tell a story. So, one day at goodwill I spotted these Christmas tree stands. I love the colors and the vintage about them. Unfortunately, these are items that don't get used much anymore. But when I found all three tree stands together I decided to stack them and they reminded me of a Christmas tree which is my Friday Goodwill Find today. The top is my vintage Ford carrying that perfect tree! I hope the other vintage finds tell a story of the past.
My story are my kids clothes hanging above the tree their first Christmas outfits. The Santa hat my mom wore at Costco while she served food and still has her mistletoe pin in it. The sax my son played all through high school and marched in many Christmas parades and my daughter wore the dress I made in a Christmas pageant for the band to raise money.
My Friday Goodwill Finds tell lots of stories for me and I hope for you. Finding the perfect tree or for me creating a tree made out of castaways was really fun, if only Christmas tree stands could tell their stories.
Stay tuned, more Christmas to come!
Debby

I started my blog to stay busy through my grief, unemployment and empty nesting. I love making something beautiful again. "Sometimes you may not be picked to join the bouquet, so be your own single beauty". My words, and making the world beautiful one post at a time.

ReplyDeleteComing to you from Mosaic Monday. I haven't posted a mosaic this week, just too busy to keep up. I do enjoy your Goodwill finds, wishing that our Goodwill would lend such treasures. Your home is lovely, especially the pink. I've done a pink tree for the last many years, but put a traditional multicolored tree this year with the family heirloom ornaments. Your pink is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have wonderful memories in your Christmas decor.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from Scotland.
