Bonjour!
Dear Blogging Friends
I hope everyone had a spooktacular Halloween! While everyone was out collecting sweet treats, I was "French Nesting"! I have wanted to change out my living room curtains for winter but did not know what I wanted, something that would be a pretty back drop for my Christmas tree. I made a quick trip to Goodwill after a crown at the dentist, thank God for Valium and laughing gas! Although, I did not laugh much, I smiled when I found these lined toile curtains, will they work? We will see and only $12. So, I headed to the register with all my French finds! I made the roman shades with fabric I already had and added leftover toile fabric to the end of the shades with the fringe. I also found this Antoinette mirror and a frenchie pitcher I absolutely love, very romantic. So, that was my "French Nesting" weekend. I also don't look forward to my next dentist appointment, LOL!
Au Revoir!
Debby
French Nesting....

I started my blog to stay busy through my grief, unemployment and empty nesting. I love making something beautiful again. "Sometimes you may not be picked to join the bouquet, so be your own single beauty". My words, and making the world beautiful one post at a time.

What finds Debby! I love toile and it sure does look pretty in your living room. A while ago I found some red toile curtains at a thrift and adjusted them to fit my basement family room windows. Love how they turned out. Been planning to share them in a post, but haven't yet.

Gosh I love Toile, have always wanted to do an all Toile Christmas tree...from little figurines and sheep to fabric covered ornaments. But since I have enough ornaments to wrap the earth in...lol, This will be a perfect setup- for the holidays. Confession I picked up drapes for material to cover all my cushions on the porch next fall...a delicious Autumn toned paisly...Thanks for reinforcing my GoodWill addiction is okay. Sandi
ReplyDeleteI have loved toile since first setting eyes on my great aunt's toile-covered furniture in the early 1950's. It is always a delight to see a find like yours. They look get!
ReplyDeleteI love the toile on the shades also! I need to make heavier curtains for my bedroom and this idea is great! thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty
ReplyDeleteAnother blogger that has good luck at Goodwill. I never do, EVER. Ours are very bad in NJ. I found you at One Time Events. I am a slight dish addict too. Adore dessert dishes, I can't help myself. Super finds. Have a super weekend!
