Blast From The Past

Dear Blogging Friends

My Loving man and I went to visit our son this weekend.  We always have a good time but it was cold!  My plans were to visit a beautiful garden but old man winter made his precence again!  So, while I waited patiently for my son to return from work, I walked to a couple of antique shops and found this True Tone radio for $9.  It was real dirty but feel in Love with the color and knew it would be a perfect match with my Pink RCA.  We had a great visit, watched movies, talked and basically did nothing!  Have you seen the movie The Martian?  I loved the music, Disco, a great Blast From The Past!  Does anyone listen to the radio anymore?  Taking these pics reminded me of one of my favorite songs from my youth by the Carpenters, Yesterday Once More!  If you have never heard it take a listen!  Love that song, makes today seem rather sad, so much has changed...
Stay tune!

  4. Dear Deborah:
You know that saying - what goes around, comes around. Well, aqua is back but now they call it Robin's Egg Blue I think! And the pink is so popular with it. These radios do bring back tons of memories. So glad you linked and shared.

  9. Oh do these bring back memories! My grandmother had the aqua one and seeing yours brought back memories of sitting around the table eating toast and listening to talk radio before my Grandpa headed off to work.

  15. Oh, these are beautiful! I had a radio similar to your blue one, but it was just silver. Wish I still had it, though, if only for the memories of playing it every morning while I was getting prepared for school.

  17. Oh how fun!! Yes, I remember listening to the Carpenters on my radio too. Those were the days. :)

They look so cute sitting by your wallpaper too. A few years ago I found a really neat turquoise retro looking radio with cd player for my dad. Reminds me of these today.

    Happy Thoughts of Home. :)

  22. Love it! The radio is gorgeous and what a bargain! The Martian was one of my favorite movies last year...I think because of the music. I listen to Sirius on my phone now, but I have it set to the 70's channel...and the Carpenters come on a lot:) Those songs really bring back the memories! I tweeted it out and pinned also:) Thank you for sharing with us at Friday Favorites. If you get a moment, I would love for you to share this at Wonderful Wednesday at Must Love Home. Right now we have a $40 PayPal cash giveaway going on thru 4/30. Please stop by and enter! Have a great week and Hugs – Christine at Must Love Home
